NaPoWriMo 2016 Day Thirteen

Napowrimo 2016 Day Thirteen

Today’s prompt is to write a poem inspired by fortune cookies. There were lots of possibilities and directions. I took an aphoristic approach.

love, loss and redemption

1.
grief lives where words do not.

deep loss when met with deep and abiding love always leads to redemption.

listen to the heart of the one you love; the truth lives there.

2.
true humility comes from knowing one’s strengths and living in them.

reflection mirrors truth even if one averts her eyes.

the silence of the night whispers what the heart is afraid to hear.

3.
letting go is a selfless act, giving in is capitulation.

rush into the future with the same relish as you relive the past.

when time seems to stand still, breathe.
